The Steele County Free Fair
in August is Minnesota's largest county fair. A county fair represents America at its best - and great entertainment for all ages! The midway includes over 30 rides and is one of the cleanest in the country. As well as the normal agricultural and 4-H exhibits, you will enjoy the daily parades, grandstand and stage entertainment, 500 commercial exhibits and 90 food concessions.

Throughout the year the Owatonna area enjoys festivals such as Straight River Days, MainStreet Cork & Bottle Wine and Microbrew Tasting, the renowned Festival of the Arts in Central Park, the Historical Society Extravaganza at the Village of Yesteryear, Culturfest, Harvest Fest, and Christmas in the Village. The Community Stage in Central Park is the site of weekly outdoor summer concerts and other forms of entertainment throughout the year.
Because many residents love music and the arts, the community has a vibrant, active arts community. The Owatonna Arts Center displays the work of many local and national artists in its main gallery and performing arts hall. The Little Theater of Owatonna (LTO) puts on several productions each year, from dramas to comedies and musicals.
