Grow Minnesota!

What keeps businesses here?  What challenges do they face? What assistance do they need in order to remain competitive and to continue to contribute to the economic vitality of our region?

Grow Minnesota! is Minnesota's first purely private sector, statewide business retention and expansion program. Its primary goal is to strengthen and grow Minnesota's economy. Initiated by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce in September 2003, Grow Minnesota! is carried out in partnership with local chambers of commerce which the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is a partner. 

Annually the OACCT visits and surveys 5% of its total membership through the Grow Minnesota! Program. Since 2004 the OACCT has visited over 100 businesses through the Grow Minnesota! Program.  Committee Members setup and visits with local businesses to find out how they are doing in six different categories related to business retention and expansion:  

• Products/Services
• Market Information
• Expansion Plans
• Business Sector Information
• Community Strengths/Weaknesses
• Workforce  

A Grow Minnesota! Annual Meeting is held in December to round out the results of the local surveys and statewide findings.  Hear from the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and Local Businesses as they present the “state of business” and how they continue to succeed in today’s economy.
