Workforce Development
A tight labor market has businesses searching for people to fill positions. In order to grow their companies, they need a continual supply of qualified people to produce the products and services created here.
The Goal of the Workforce Development Committee is to ensure:
‘The Chamber will have the knowledge to act as a resource to help business achieve their workforce needs.’
Partnership to develop Workforce Training for the area:
The Chamber, in partnership with Riverland Community College and the Owatonna College & University Center board of directors developed a Manufacturers Workforce Summit. The purpose was to identify the training needs of industry and develop curriculum to support those needs.
The work has been successful as Riverland Community College is finalizing new classes to help industry train their people.
